It's release day. And after a slew of disappointing reviews, Superman Returns is released upon the world in a frenzy. I couldn't leave my house without seeing a banner with Routh and Spacey's mug on it. This was the year Superman returned to the theater... but he didn't exactly bring the best quality of cinema along with him. Yes, I admit, I liked the majority of Superman Returns, but the film desperately needed pep and zest. It feel bland -- unnatural. I couldn't entirely buy Routh as the Man of Steel.
I digress, though. The majority did like the film and they do want a sequel. Yet I wait around like a moron for an announcement that this is moving forward with the same cast. I fear that day will never come. And Brandon Routh seems to think along the same line. In a recent interview with Collider, he's still unsure if he's shooting the film this year or next year.
